One of the keys to weight loss and fitness success is keeping a food journal.

A food journal is a daily log of the meals and snack that you eat throughout the day. However, Keeping a food journal is a big pain in the ass for most people… until now!

Watch the following video to discover the easiest way to keep a food journal… no matter where you are. :-)

Kirstie Alley’s Weight Gain: 228lbs.!!!

kirstie-alley-skinny-and-fat

It’s true, Kirstie Alley has gained all of her weight back… and more!

As a spokesperson for Jenny Craig, she whittled her body down to 145lbs.
Now, she is tipping the scales at 228lbs. The most she has ever weighed in her entire life! No bueno!!

In my eyes, the weight gain was inevitable.
Just as with Oprah, there was a missing link to Kirstie Alley’s weight loss program. Without this key ingredient, weight gain is 100% assured.

Watch the following video for some insight on why she gained the weight back and what she should do to get herself back on track… and lose the weight for good!

Be sure to leave a comment.
I’m interested in hearing what you have to say. :-)

What Is Your Reason Why?

yes Developing the proper mindset is the foundation for any successes that we will have in our lives including fitness and weight loss.

In order to be sucessful with your fitness and weight loss efforts you need to have a good enough “reason why”.

It’s true. You can’t lose weght for the sake of losing weight. There has to be an underlying reason why:

  • Maybe you want to look your best on your wedding day or at your class reunion.
  • Maybe you have a history of heart disease or breast cancer in your family and you want to do everything you can to avoid it.
  • Maybe you want to be the ultimate example for your children.
  • Maybe you gained weight because of fear or depression and you want to reclaim your life…

Whatever your reason, make sure it’s a good one.

Why? Because there will be tough times along the road to fitness success. We all have them… believe me… we all have them.

It’s been said that the road to success is paved with hard work and determination.

Yes, there’s work involved and there’s sacrifices that you’ll have to make.

Don’t get me wrong, there are good times too, very good times.
Nothing feels better than achieving your goals and being truly happy with the person staring back at you in the mirror.

However, when the tough times come, it’s that reason why, that very special reason why, that will keep you on the fast track to fitness success.

So, what is your reason why? Leave a comment below. I’d love to hear about it.

What Are Your Possibilities?

This is one of my favorite motivational/inspirational videos.
Check it out…

The message is simple:
Are you willing to do whatever it takes to achieve what you want out of life?

This is a great question to ask yourself whenever you are considering a new project/endeavor.
Whether it’s weight loss, business, or personal achievemnt, the question is still the same.

Are you willing to do whatever it takes to see this goal to completion?

If the answer is yes, then go for it!
If the answer is no, then don’t even bother because it won’t get done.

Asking that simple question will save you time and energy that you can put into projects that you do care about.

At the beginning of 2009, I set the intention to ask myself that simple question.
And, I’ll tell you what… I’ve never been happier! :-)

Now it’s your turn. Set the intention…
Everything you do, do it with purpose or don’t do it at all.

Let me know what you think. I’d love to hear what you have to say. :)

5 Fattest States in America

Obesity in America

Have you ever wondered which States are the fattest and which States are the fittest in America?

Well, I have… and thanks to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, we now have the answers.

Now, keep in mind, the figures given for these states are percentages of obesity, not overweight, but obesity. The percentage of overweight people in each of these states is much higher.
Also, these percentages are for the entire state, not just a city in that state.

5 Fattest States in America

  1. Mississippi: 32.6 percent
  2. Alabama: 30.9 percent
  3. Tennessee: 30.7
  4. Louisiana: 30.7
  5. West Virginia: 30.3

5 Least Obese States in America

  1. Colorado: 19.7
  2. Massachusetts: 21.7
  3. Rhode Island: 21.7
  4. Connecticut: 21.7
  5. Hawaii: 21.7

source: CDC.gov

As you can see… all 5 of the fattest states in America have over 30 percent rate of obesity.
Can you believe that? 1 out of 3 people in each of these states is obese. That is crazy!

The 5 least obese states are doing slightly better with 1 out of 5 people considered obese.

Obviously, we have an epidemic of mammoth proportions on our hands and we need to do something about it.

We need to understand that being fit is not about being vain. It’s not about the muscle head admiring himself in the mirror and kissing his own biceps.

It’s about having vibrant health, being free of sickness, disease, and preventing premature death.
It’s about quality of life… being able to enjoy the days that you’re here on this earth to the fullest!

It’s about being able to add value to society instead of being a burden to it.

How Can We Prevent Obesity?

The first thing we need to do is educate the population as a whole.
We need to give people a reason to want to be fit and healthy.

Next, we need to take action:

  • Eat more organic whole foods
  • Minimize intake of processed foods
  • Start a resistance training program
  • Start a cardiovascular training program
  • And, understand that it is possible to be fit, happy, and healthy

This last point is a big one.
I see it time and time again. Many people will start a health and fitness program and initially get great results.
But, as soon as they start getting compliments from friends and strangers… they self-sabotage themselves.

They go back to there old ways because there is comfort and familiarity there.

In order to make a positive LASTING change, you have to change your mindset.
You need to understand that yes… it’s not only okay for you to look great, but you deserve to look great.

Once this paradigm shift is made, there will be no stopping you.
You will be able to achieve anything that your heart desires.

Remember, I love you and wish you the best in everything you do.
